Lucasfilm has released a Special Look trailer for the upcoming final instalment of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which takes a retrospective look at the story so far along with a tantalising glimpse of things to come. The trailer reveals a few new scenes and locations via some previously unreleased clips; some of which are more intriguing than others! Check out the D23 Special Look below: A new poster has also been released earlier this week, featuring a climactic duel between Rey and Kylo, with the Emperor looming in the background. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas this December.
  2. After what seems like an eternity of waiting, the first official trailer for The Mandalorian is here. It has been almost 15 years since fans were first promised a live-action Star Wars TV show, and this new show from Jon Favreau looks set to fulfil the bargain when it launches along with Disney+ this November. The trailer was revealed at the D23, and confirms previously speculated details, such as the shows setting between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. While the Mandalorian remains his silent mysterious self, we do see a few snippets of action, including firefight with IG-11, a new character based on everybody's favourite assassin-droid-turned-bounty-hunter IG-88. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the titular Mandalorian, supported by MMA fighter and actress Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers as Greef, as well as a host of other famed actors. Ming-Na Wen (Mulan, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD) has also been added to the list of cast, after being announced by Disney chief Bob Iger. Wen has had her eye on a role in Star Wars for a while now, but it is still unknown what role she will play in The Mandalorian.
  3. A sneak peek at upcoming Disney+ TV series The Mandalorian will be shown at the Disney D23 Expo, it has been revealed. The presentation on 23 August at will feature appearances from both Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni plus other special guests. Footage from The Mandalorian was previously shown at Star Wars Celebration Chicago earlier this year but was not officially released you the public outside the event. It is expected that this time around the footage will be released, giving many people their first real look at the show, especially as the show is due to premiere with the launch of Disney+ later this year. In other news, Favreau revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he had already started writing the second series of The Mandalorian, adding that he's "having a blast". The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter, and is set in the period after the classic Star Wars trilogy, and will be released on 12 August 2019 on Disney+.
