    The Book of Boba Fett

The Book of Boba Fett was announced at the end of the second season finale of The Mandalorian. It will be set within the timeline of The Mandalorian. It is set for release on Disney+ in December 2021.
  2. Spoilers ahead: If you have not yet seen The Mandalorian season 2 finale, continue reading this article at your own risk. The existence of a Boba Fett series has been heavily rumoured right from the very beginning of The Mandalorian. In season two we were finally reintroduced to Fett, played by Temuera Morrison as he helped Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) on his path the bring Grogu to the Jedi. After playing his part, Fett splits from the group along with his companion Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) and jumps into hyperspace. After the credits have rolled on the episode we are treated to a post-credits scene which reveals the title card for The Book of Boba Fett and a date of December 2021. A Boba Fett spinoff was not part of the Disney Investor's Day announcements, but this isn't the first time that Disney have kept something quiet to avoid spoiling their plans. So what is The Book of Boba Fett? Theory 1: It's just the title of The Mandalorian season 3 Given that Djarin has now fulfilled his obligation to bring Grogu to the Jedi (I did warn you there would be spoilers), series 3 will need a new focus. There are unresolved threads that the series needs to address, such as Mando's possession of the Darksaber which Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) needs to legitimise her claim to Mandalore. Reclaiming Mandalore itself would seem to be an obvious choice for a series titled The Mandalorian. There had also been rumours that Fett would take over as the lead character of the show, but with the aforementioned unresolved issues and Pascal coming out recently to address this year's earlier rumours of tension with the production team, this seems even more unlikely. Theory 2: It's a brand new Disney+ show To me, this theory holds the most weight. With Fett's return to Tatooine at the end of the episode, he clearly has some old scores to settle. The given release date of December 2021 does match up with the third season of The Mandalorian, suggesting that the series' may retain some kind of link. With Mando returning to Disney+ in late December, it seems that The Book of Boba Fett may be a short limited series that leads up to its return. Jon Favreau, one of the forces behind the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, previously said that The Mandalorian would follow a Game of Thrones style route with characters and story lines, sending them off on their own arcs, and this ties in with this month's announcements of new shows for Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic, and also fits neatly with Fett getting his own spin-off too. Ahsoka and Rangers are already said to be linked and crossover with each other, and The Book of Boba Fett would mean that there are now four interconnected shows that share a common cast and space in the timeline. It seems that when Favreau mentioned Game of Thrones he was attempting to throw us off the scent that really Disney are creating an MCU-style ecosystem of shows within the Star Wars universe.
  3. An "insider" has reportedly informed We Got This Covered that there is a Boba Fett TV show being developed for Disney+. Further rumours surrounding the project infer that Ewan McGregor would reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for this series. As with all rumours we are taking this with a hefty pinch of salt, after all Disney are already working on The Mandalorian which will launch with Disney+ in November this year. Those of us who have been around the rumour mill for a while might remember the whisperings of a young Boba Fett appearing in the ultimately cancelled Star Wars Underworld project. At that time Daniel Logan was apparently set to reprise his role of the up and coming bounty hunter, but Logan is now in his 30s. In October 2018 it was reported that a Boba Fett anthology film had been shelved due to the "poor box office performance" of Solo. Is there room for a Boba Fett TV show as well as The Mandalorian? I'm not sure there is. It's entirely possible that these rumours are actually leaks from The Mandalorian, given the similar premise, but like a lot of rumours it is also likely that it could just be wishful thinking on the part of the fandom.

    Boba Fett: A Practical Man

Boba Fett: A Practical Man is a New Jedi Order era eBook by Karen Traviss, released in 2006. The story begins shortly before the start of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, and follows Boba Fett and the Mandalorians as they combat the incursion of the Yuuzhan Vong. The eBook includes previews of Legacy of the Force: Betrayal and Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines, as well as interviews with the authors Aaron Allston and Karen Traviss. It was also included in the paperback edition of Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice.
  5. The Mandalorian has been revealed as the first live-action Star Wars television series, and is now currently in production by Lucasfilm. It will be released exclusivley via Disney's own streaming service. The Mandalorian is set three years after the events of Return of the Jedi and the apparent death of the infamous Mandalorian bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Through the series we will follow the exploits of a lone gunfighter in the outer rim of the galaxy, far from the centre of power of the fledgling New Republic. The series will be written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man and Iron Man 2 Marvel movies. He is no stranger to Star Wars, having lent his voice to characters in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will be directing the first episode, with other announced episode direcots including Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson join Jon Favreau as executive producers, and Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

    Boba: a Star Wars Story

So it's been confirmed, per THR: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-boba-fett-movie-is-happening-james-mangold-direct-1113273 And a million fanboys lost their minds. Now I suppose it's speculation time... Time period? Casting Boba? And will this be one of the other films Alden has signed on to play Han in? Do you want to see what he was up to pre-ANH? Or perhaps, have Disney rescue him from the sarlacc ala the Legends/EU and do something post-ROTJ? Bring Temuera back? Dun dun dun...
  7. Well, we're already getting confirmation of an Obi-Wan solo film, but now Variety via Joblo.com is adding two more films to the list: Boba Fett. And Jabba the Hutt. Boba had been rumored for quite some time, so I don't think it's much of a surprise. But reportedly the Jabba one was also rumored for a while (though I never heard about it?) and I think it's a bit more surprising. So which are looking forward to more? Boba or Jabba? I'm not much of a Boba Fett fan, but he's still more interesting than Jabba, I think. Disney could grabbed any other ancillary Star Wars character, and it would be more interesting than Jabba, personally speaking. Are there other characters you'd like to see get a spin-off?

Joss Whedon in Star Wars talks?

The second Star Wars Anthology film ran into trouble recently when director Josh Trank stepped down from the project. Some reports say Trank was fired from the film after disagreements with the other key production crew members. In either case Lucasfilm are on the lookout for a replacement, and the latest rumors from Latino Review indicate that they may be looking to Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon to fill that spot. He has already expressed a desire to move on from the Marvel universe, after helming both Avengers movies and writing for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD television series, and perhaps Disney aren't ready to let him go just yet. Another possibility is the fabled Star Wars live-action television series which has been in development limbo for a decade but occasionally pops up in a rumor, and he is no stranger to science-fiction or fantasy on TV, having created cult classics Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and Dollhouse. No official source has yet commented on these rumors as usual, so little may come of them, but even the possibility of Joss Whedon joining Star Wars is sure to excite fans.

    Boba Fett Lives!

George Lucas has confirmed that Boba Fett did survive the Sarlacc pit.During an interview with Star Wars historian JR Rinzler, creator George Lucas apparently confirmed that the fan favourite bounty hunter no longer officially saw his demise in the Sarlacc pit at the end of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. It has been long established in the Star Wars Expanded Universe that Fett had managed to escape and live a long life outside the movies, but this marks the first time that Lucas has stated that he survived the encounter. 12. Metalocalypse director John Schnepp has stated in an interview that a Boba Fett movie is already in pre-production.It was reported several months ago that Disney planned to intersperse the movies of the main Star Wars saga with spin-off films unrelated to the main story, but focusing on specific characters from the saga. As Boba Fett is perhaps one of the most loved minor characters from the classic Star Wars trilogy, it may be no surprise that Disney want to create an origin story for him. Joe Schnepp revealed the information during a press interview where he said that he knew for a fact that one of the spin-off movies was a Boba Fett story written by Lawrence Kasdan and already in pre-production. Fett received the origin treatment in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, when it was revealed that Boba was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. It is currently unknown whether a new film would explore this in more detail or take place in the gap between the classic and prequel trilogies. With the expanded universe no longer canon, it is currently assumed that Fett's death in Return of the Jedi has been reinstated. Click here to view the article
