Trivia

  • Solo: A Star Wars Story is heavily influenced by the former expanded universe.
  • Qi'ra gives Han the gold dice that we see in A New Hope and The Last Jedi.
  • Qi'ra mentions that she knows Teräs Käsi, a hand-to-hand combat form best known from 1997's PlayStation game Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi.
  • Lando comments that Tobias Becket killed Aurra Sing, to whom Lando was heavily in debt. Sing was seen watching the podrace in The Phantom Menace, but her career as a bounty hunter was fleshed out in the comics.
  • Val wonders why they didn't hire Bossk, who was part of the bounty hunter lineup in The Empire Strikes Back.
  • The planets of Scarif, which was the location of the battle at the end of Rogue One, and Felucia, a jungle planet briefly seen in Revenge of the Sith, are mentioned.
  • The creature inside the Akkadese Maelstrom which surround Kessel is called a summa-verminoth.
  • In the expanded universe The Maw was a group of black holes that made navigation difficult near Kessel. In Solo it appears as a gravity well that has a similar effect.
  • Also in the expanded universe, The Maw was home to an Imperial facility where Grand Moff Tarkin built a prototype Death Star, amongst other superweapons.
  • At one point Lando can be heard dictating his (supposed) exploits, the tale we hear him spin is from Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu, a 1983 novel by L Neil Smith.
