    Obi-Wan Kenobi

The show was officially announced, along with the news that Ewan McGregor would reprise his role of Kenobi, at D23 in August 2019, after months of speculation. During Disney's 2020 Investor's Day call it was revealed that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Darth Vader.
  2. With Kathleen Kennedy recently revealing that the scripts for the upcoming live-action Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series are already finished, the main man himself has finally started talking; and it turns out Ewan McGregor is pretty good at keeping secrets, even when speculation was at a fever pitch. It’s a massive relief. Because for four years, I’ve been having to lie to people about it. Ewan McGregor During an interview, McGregor is reported to have revealed that his series won't start shooting until summer 2020, and that there will be a total of six hour-long episodes. McGregor intends to play the role of the erstwhile Jedi Master closer to Sir Alec Guinness' portrayal of the character in the original Star Wars trilogy, and at the age of 48 he will be pretty close to Kenobi's canonical age in this series, which is set around 11 years before the events of the first movie. The Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show will likely not hit the Disney+ streaming service until 2021, but there is plenty more in the pipeline to keep Star Wars fans happy until then.
  3. An "insider" has reportedly informed We Got This Covered that there is a Boba Fett TV show being developed for Disney+. Further rumours surrounding the project infer that Ewan McGregor would reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for this series. As with all rumours we are taking this with a hefty pinch of salt, after all Disney are already working on The Mandalorian which will launch with Disney+ in November this year. Those of us who have been around the rumour mill for a while might remember the whisperings of a young Boba Fett appearing in the ultimately cancelled Star Wars Underworld project. At that time Daniel Logan was apparently set to reprise his role of the up and coming bounty hunter, but Logan is now in his 30s. In October 2018 it was reported that a Boba Fett anthology film had been shelved due to the "poor box office performance" of Solo. Is there room for a Boba Fett TV show as well as The Mandalorian? I'm not sure there is. It's entirely possible that these rumours are actually leaks from The Mandalorian, given the similar premise, but like a lot of rumours it is also likely that it could just be wishful thinking on the part of the fandom.

    Master & Apprentice

Star Wars: Master & Apprentice is a canon novel by Claudia Gray. It follows Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, during the time before Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
  5. Mark Hamill has been spotted sporting a fine growth of facial hair worthy of a Jedi Master. On the red carpet in London at the UK premiere of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy this week, Mark Hamill posed for cameras as he exhibited his masterful facial hair, reminiscent of the beard worn by Sir Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars trilogy. Speaking to the BBC's Lizo Mzimba he explained that he was "contractually obliged" to grow the beard for his role in Star Wars Episode VII, and that it signified Luke Skywalker's role as the mentor figure, like Obi-Wan Kenobi before him. Hamill also revealed how surprised he is to be returning to Star Wars all these years later, and says that he never intended to return to the galaxy far far away. But so far he seemed impressed with the talent of the new cast and is confident that the future of Star Wars is in good hands. Click here to view the article
