  1. The latest rumours are indicating that the eagerly anticipated sequel, Star Wars Episode VII, is headed for release towards the end of 2015. It has never been officially announced but previous estimates pinned Episode VII during summer 2015.     Star Wars to return to 35mm film

    Director JJ Abrams is expected to bring his director of photography, Daniel Mindel on board to film Episode VII, which will mean a return to 35mm film, a format Abrams is known to be committed to. 2002 saw the release of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, which was the first foray of Star Wars onto the latest high definition digital systems, followed by Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in 2005. A return to celluloid could mean the sequels will evoke the classic trilogy rather than the prequels. Abrams and Mindel previously used 35mm to bring 2009's Star Trek and it's sequel Star Trek: Into Darkness to the big screen.
