Star Wars Rebels is an animated television series set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It follows the crew of the starship Ghost as they fight against the Galactic Empire.

The return of Star Wars Rebels will be on 20th June 2015, it has been revealed, with a one-hour long premiere episode titled The Siege of Lothal. The episode was first shown to fans attending Celebration Anaheim earlier this year, and features the return of a fan favourite character established in the former Star Wars expanded universe television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ahsoka Tano was the padawan of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars, and in many ways she was to that series what Ezra Bridger is to Rebels. Now an experienced Jedi in her own right, it has been said that she will become a mentor figure to the young Jedi in training. Rebels season two also sees the return of Darth Vader, with James Earl Jones reprising the role of providing Vader's voice, and this is sure to bring trouble for the crew of the Ghost as Vader seeks to hunt down his former apprentice. An extended trailer for the second season of Star Wars Rebels was revealed at Star Wars Celebration this Saturday.The animated show on Disney XD has proved itself with the first season, and producers have said that season two has almost twice as many episodes as the first. As part of the Star Wars Day celebrations, Disney XD have released the full trailer for Star Wars: Rebels.Following a teaser yesterday, the full length trailer for upcoming Disney XD animated series Star Wars: Rebels, which is due to debut later this year. Rebels takes place in the new Star Wars canon and will be in line with the Lucasfilm Story Group's new policies and vision for the overall saga, but executive producer Dave Filoni says "it’s important that Rebels be its own thing" in relation to previous animated series The Clone Wars.
