The New Psycho Story: Where the Hell am I?

Recommended Posts

Pandora

Okay, yes I know this isn't the Creations Forum, but let's just overlook that for a while.

As soon as Prin wraps up the last story, I'll start the new one; it's going to take some extra creativity on all our parts though, so it should be pretty fun.

The next comedy is going to be called "Where the Hell am I?" Here's the premise: Several characters from the prequels are going to get stranded on Earth. They are going find that most of their technology is not working (ships are wrecked, long-range coms are down, lightsabers keep going buggy, that sort of thing). They are going to be sort of spread out so the story will be kinda complicated, but we can make it work.

Here's what I want you to do!!

If you are interested in participating in the story, I want you to take a little ownership of it in two ways. First off, nominate prequel characters you'd like to see stuck on Earth. Second, (and this is the big one) create your own earth character. Appraoch it kinda like you would an RPG character, except when the story starts, your character becomes a fixed part of the story and is fair game to anyone. Since our prequel characters will be spread out around the world, you might want to create a character from your own region. For instance, my character is from the South, Beeurd's character can be from Britain, Prin's can be from the northern US, Drake's from Canada, etc and so forth.

I'll start. Here's my character:

Character name: Donny

Age: 15

Region of origin: American South (not South America)

Biography: Donny is what you get if you take a little redneck, a little geek, parents with a little money, a lemur, throw it all in a blender and hit puree. He?s the little brother that even his own mother would like to see in an institution. He?s got a case of hyperactivity that he just can?t seem to grow out of and a short attention span bordering on attention deficit disorder. Any Jedi stuck with him will find it more than challenging to remain calm and patient. Any Sith will surely be hard-pressed to avoid killing him.

I'll update this post with the list of prequel characters and personal earth characters. The only rule I have is don't make yourself the character. You can base your character off of yourself, but it cannot be you. Keep these characters believeable. If they are from earth, no Force powers!

Have fun!

Ok which of you modly types moved this? I told Pod to go ahead and advertise in the Spaceport.

Ah well.

And I promise, that I won't take too long to wrap up the old story.

*raises hand* I did. Sorry I did my modly duties. Didn't know the admin said it was alright to advertise to everyone who already knows about the Psychopathic Jedi in the wrong forum. I'll be sure to check next time. ;) :p

As prequel era.. are we talking about the prequel movie era or thereabouts.. and not like way before the prequels?

If so: I nominate Jar Jar!

I'll make up a character later.

And if we need some from more areas, I can always make more. Doesn't take me long to whip up a character.

Ooh, and I think Watto would be cool.

And we can't have one without Obi-Wan Kenobi.

yes, definitely Obi-Wan. and Mace Windu. :D

Character name: Lorelei

Age: early 20s

Region of origin: Kentucky/Southern Indiana

Biography: Descendent of German immigrants with a good, solid head on her shoulders currently working as a Nuclear Tech (hehe). however she prefers her own fantasy world to reality. Witty and sarcastic, sometimes it is difficult to tell when she's kidding. Her sense of humor is somewhat twisted, but she can be sensitive and sweet when the occasion calls for it. somewhat reckless in her driving, any soul unfortunate enough to be stuck with her better hang on and not look out the window.

Okay, I'm gonna branch out here and not pick one in the U.S. :p 'Cause I think having SW peeps in Australia would be fun.

Name: Ned Trian

Age: 27

Location: Sydney, Australia

Occupation: Administrative Assistant at American embassy in Sydney, Australia. [Don't call him a male secretary]

Description: Ned is fairly tall, around 5'10". He's a bit on the thin side but not skin and bones. He has dark brown hair that is always immaculately groomed. He wears glasses over his hazel eyes.

A little on the shy side, Ned tends to bury himself in his work, only to go home alone and watch TV with his cat Violet. He's not good with talking to people unless he's explaining to people at work that "No, you cannot go past without permission."

Bio: After attending business school in Wichita, Kansas and graduating in the top of his class, Ned found a job at big company in Los Angeles. When he heard about an administrative assistant job opening up at the U.S. embassy in Sydney, he took the chance and applied, after agonizing over it for many months. There was the chance to move up int the world there. Whereas in L.A. he'd be stuck as an A.A. forever.

He then moved to Sydney after getting the job and now types up various reports as well as answering phones at the Embassy offices of the U.S. Ambassador George O'Malley.

I can make more later, if you need some!

We're gonna have to have Yoda.

And land him in a nudist colony.

Because it wouldn't be a PJ story without a nudist colony.

I put it there to let everyone know that the new one was starting... in case they forgot to check this forum. But I was going to ask someone to move it later anyways.

So we can't have non-Jedi prequel characters? I think that would be awfully boring.

Okay, I have created a Dramatis Personae.

Please continue to post suggestions for prequel characters and submitions of new Earth-based characters here.

Read the current list HERE.

No one officially said that. But in the first post of the story, all the prequel characters involved in the story are going to get sucked through a vortex in the middle of a space fight (sometime before the Clone Wars, continuity bedamned). I don't really want to include clones in the story, because they aren't very funny. I want to stick to humans as much as possible, save for maybe Yoda (POSSIBLY JarJar).

What about Bail Organa?

i dunno. one or two clones may be fun to mess with....er, i mean write about. Bail Organa could end up in the DC area or some other political hotspot. OR, he could wind up in a place where no one cares about politics. either way could be funny.

Well, 'cause you only have Jedi listed so far as usable prequel characters.

And maybe we could all vote on the nominations together?

Depends on how long it takes for Prin to finish the other story up (or how long it takes for me to get impatient). I may consider running a poll for a few days to get everyone's input.

How would everyone feel if I kept a summary thread so we can keep straight where everyone is?

Well, I just thought it would be nice if we all got to decide which characters were involved...

It'd be easy to just put all the nominations in a poll... and then the top whatever make it into the story.

Like, of the major storylines?

Or just their locations? Their locations should be in their profiles.. and if they move on, it could be in a storyline summary..

I think you guys used to do that with other PJ stories...?

But a poll will leave incomplete information. So I will listen to everyone's suggestions and make a decision based on them. The fact is that if I can't figure out how to write them into the story, they probably won't make it in. We have a tendency to create too many characters and lose them.

Okay, y'all, give me your input on this: I can actually start the story in the HQ forum with separate threads for different locations and the characters involved in them. If characters cross paths, I will merge the topics. I will keep the completed, merged version as a closed topic in this forum with a link to the HQ threads. That will ensure that I read every single post to A) keep up with the summary thread and B) keep the story in a single, uniform format so it is more readible and less confusing.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the separate threads idea. We're lazy, having separate threads means more buttons that we have to click, and well, we've had people all over the universe before

Yes but they are going to be confined to a single planet this time around.

But that's why I asked for input. Anyone else?

i think a summary thread is a great idea. however i think creating too many threads would get confusing. we could always try the multiple threads and then merge them if it gets to be too much.

How will a poll be incomplete?

There won't be too many characters if we have a poll with like 20 possibles and then the top like 8 votes get in.

Or just have a thread poll, if you don't want to make a regular poll. Like have people vote via PM or something.

I thought this was supposed to be a group effort this time around.

And I think it's really patronizing, at least in my view, to say that if you can't think of a way to write someone in, than no one can.

Okay, y'all, give me your input on this: I can actually start the story in the HQ forum with separate threads for different locations and the characters involved in them. I only really think we need two threads: the story and the summary one.... I see no need to have each location/storyline in a separate thread.
