I'm not sure anything modern could really be listed as a wonder of the world, since we all know how it was built, and it was relativly easy to build with today's technology what it is.

I saw a show about Niagara Falls once. It's not a very natural wonder anymore as the waterflow has been restricted to reduce natural erosion and the falls have been reconstructed in the past for our viewing pleasure.

All of those wonders aren't technically "wonders" just things people thought should be wonders ((Except the first list))

Okay, go build me another Suez canal all by yourself, Chicken. :p

Well, I guess they could be. There's no defintion for "wonders" is there? Just some basic awe or astonishment. It never said it had to be old.

Not that I'm agreeing one way or the other... just inciting some discussion.. :p

Anything you would add, take away?

The Clock Tower (Big Ben) in London, England

The Empire State Building in New York City, USA

They aren't wonders... At the end of the day, it's just a bloody clock tower and a big office block. :p

I agree with chicken and Beeurd...none of us can build it by ourselves, but a team of builders can easily build one (with the funds of course)

They would only be wonders if they were built in 12 BC or something, lol

"Pagans". Archaeoastronomy.

No need to wonder.

How hard is it to build a Pyramid compared to the worlds tallest building? Or a wall to a clock?

Just like Evolution.

Where is your proof.

You're differing from the question. What makes a building a wonder? So far you've only implied the age of it - No, in fact, the difficulty of building it.

Which would kinda limit the list..

 that was an example. If the Empire State building had been built in 12 BC, that'd be pretty damned wild. But since it was built in world of trucks and cranes and steel, it's not that fantastic. I didn't mean only things built in 12 BC could be considered.... *shakes head*

Stonehenge is a wonder because nobody really knows who built it or why, or really even how. Those stones came from somewhere quite far from the site itself and back then, they didn't exactly have trucks or cranes to lift and haul them.

Everything that is assumed about it are only theories. I've heard everything from druids to aliens built the thing.
