Fuel Crisis

Recommended Posts

Andy

Here we go again!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4243950.stm

Petrol has already past the ?1 per litre mark here, and diesel is more than that.

And no everybody started panic-buying and caused a load of places to run out of fuel altogether! Crazy country!

Prices are around $1.35 to $1.40 AUD/litre.

I think some people here have done the panic-buying, lol.

My statement to the world:

"Everyone buy fuel today, and tomorrow will be twice as expensive as today!"

I don't have a car either, w00t.

Prices here in Michigan flucuate a lot....so somewhere between $2.99 (a gallon) at the most once and probably $2.19, I think the lowest was a while back.

It got up to $3.09 per gallon here, but now it's around $2.90. Good thing my Civic gets good milage!

My house on the other hand, is heated by fuel oil, so I'm screwed, lol.

Your house is heated by oil? :|

Crazy.

My car is quite economical too, which is good because I only filled it up the day before the prices went up and all this panic-buying started. lol

lol, oil heat is a pretty time honored way of going about it. it's not exactly a new trend. most people would rather have natural gas :p

Gas prices are going down here. A last week they were around $1.52/litre...as of yesterday they were $1.15/litre.

Lets see, there's about 3.7 liters in a gallaon so that would be what, almost four pounds per gallon? And that would be...holy sith, about $7.20 a gallon! Okay, so it's a lot worse there than here. :p

One thing about this place is that when the price goes up it rarely comes back down.

That seems to be the going trend nowadays. I can remember this time last year when it $1.50 a gallon. Boy do I miss those days.

Aye, I remember when I had to walk 15 miles in the snow to get a gallon of gas. Uphill. Both ways.
