Revenge Of Quote (lyric) Game Part Deux

Recommended Posts

Roethlisberger

All these lyrics come from prominent (and generally popular) rock artists from any era.

1. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who; Guessed correctly by Ana

And the men who spurred us on

Sit in judgement of all wrong

They decide and the shotgun sings the song

2.

She knows there's no success like failure

And that failure's no success at all.

3. I am the Walrus - The Beatles: Guessed correctly by Mickey

Yellow matter custard

Dripping from a dead dog's eye

Crabalocker fishwife

Pornographic priestess

Boy, you've been a naughty girl

you let your knickers down

4.

Hey! Said my name is called disturbance

I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the king, I'll rail at all his servants

5. Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen: Guessed correctly by Mirax

Don't run back inside, darling, you know just what I'm here for

So you're scared and you're thinking that maybe we ain't that young anymore

Show a little faith, there's magic in the night

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright

Oh, and that's alright with me

6. Brain Damage - Pink Floyd: Guessed correctly by Tsl

The lunatic is on the grass.

The lunatic is on the grass.

Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.

Got to keep the loonies on the path.

7. The Doors - Light My Fire: Guessed correctly by Mickey

You know that it would be untrue

You know that I would be a liar

If I was to say to you

Girl, we couldn't get much higher

8. Space Oddity - David Bowie: Guessed correctly by Mirax

For here

Am I sitting in a tin can

Far above the world

Planet Earth is blue

And there's nothing I can do

9. Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin: Guessed right by Mirax

Shake for me, girl

I wanna be your back door man

10. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix: guessed correctly by Mickey

Well she's walking

through the clouds

with a circus mind

that's running wild

Butterflies and zebras and moonbeams

and fairly tales,

That's all she ever thinks about...

Riding with the wind

11. The Weight - The Band: Guessed correctly by Mirax

Take a load off Fanny, take a load for free

Take a load off Fanny, and you put the load right on me

12.

Something's wrong 'cause my mind is fading

Ghetto-blasting disintegrating

Rock 'n' roll, know what I'm saying

And everywhere I look there's a devil waiting

13.

The King is gone but not forgotten

Is this the story of Johnny Rotten?

It's better to burn out cause rust never sleeps

the King is gone but he's not forgotten

14. Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of - U2: Guessed correctly by Mirax

I'm not afraid of anything in this world

There's nothing you can throw at me that I haven't already heard

I'm just trying to find a decent melody

15. Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun: guessed correctly by Mickey

In my eyes, indisposed

In disguise as no one knows

Hides the face, lies the snake

The sun in my disgrace

Boiling heat, summer stench

'Neath the black the sky looks dead

call my name through the cream

And I'll hear you scream again

Bonus:

Hey, you know something people?

I'm not black

But there's a whole lots a times

I wish I could say I'm not white

so I'm sitting here thinking "one of those has got to be a Jimi song" So I tried Fire thinking no. 7's lyrics would fit the ryhme, and then I thought Little Wing has some psychadelic lyrics that might fit 3 or 10 ... and sure enough 10 is Little Wing by Jimi Henrdix, but no 7 does indeed ryhme with fire ... as in come on baby "Light my Fire" by another Jim ... Jim Morrison and The Doors. And 3 sounded familiar because I had heard it in a song after Ferris mentioned something about being the Walrus but still having to bum rides off people, after he quotes John Lennon. So 3 is I am the Walrus, by the Beatles.

They're all correct, except you've got the title wrong for the Neil Young song.

(It's Neil Young and Crazy Horse.)

I'll update the first post later.

If you'd just said Neil Young it would've been fine. In fact, I refer to the CD as Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young, as opposed to Crazy Horse.

Saying just Neil Young is a hell of a lot better than just saying Crazy Horse.

Hardly. That's like saying just Eric Clapton instead of Cream.. :p

I would never stand for that!!!!!!!!!!!

Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce were just as big parts of the band.

Now if you were to say Eric Clapton instead of Derek and the Dominos that would be ok.

:p (I'm only sorta kidding)

Okay so make me dig the damn CD out of this box. I'll see you in a year maybe. :p

*moans* You know.... I never thought having this many cds would be a problem. If I did, I might've listened to people when they told me I had an addiction.

Jeez!!!! I need to fix that. My, My, Hey, Hey (Out of the Blue) by Neil Young and Crazy Horse from their 1979 album "Rust Never Sleeps" put out by Reprise. Better?

We have to finish this one first.

Mirax keeps on coming up short with the song title.
