I used to get very anxious in social situations, although I don't now. Still prefer my own company though. ?

I too have often thought that if I was growing up today I probably would have been diagnosed as being on the spectrum. I don't know if it's just me being over-analytical of myself.

Yeah I feel you.

I'm usually good with just me, or maybe hanging with my sister. But having friends to do stuff with sometimes would be nice too. Trouble is my only way of contacting them really is Facebook, and I have basically stopped using it because it just got to be too much.  So here I sit.  Even though I know friendship is a two-way street and if they wanted to get in touch they could figure out how. But still.

Did you forget how to use forums? ;)

Anyways, almost settled after the move now, but now my mum is in hospital. Doesn't seem to be anything too serious, but they've not found a cause so are keeping her in for tests.

It's probably not as quick as it would be privately, but it's times like this I'm glad the NHS is around as I'm sure CT and MRI scans are expensive, not to mention the blood tests, painkillers, ambulance, and a week in hospital.

Hopefully she's out soon.

The bill that was submitted to our insurance after Hubz's stroke was $75k. That included 2 or 3 CT scans, 2 MRIs, 3 days in the ICU, a TEE, and another couple days on the stroke unit, as well as meds and PT/OT consults.

Oh my gosh, I had no idea. How is he doing now?

He’s doing really well. If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t be able to tell just be looking at him. His left side still tenses up when he gets tired, but considering what could have happened, it’s pretty mild.

Glad to hear he's doing well, and I hope to all of the gods that the insurance covered that bill. ?

Mum's out now, they couldn't find anything in particular that caused it but it has subsided but they were confident it wasn't anything to worry about and she's back to normal now. Also, in other news I've officially cast of the shackles of my old flat so I should start having some free time again to work on GB stuff. Of course, there is always Christmas and New Year to disrupt everything for me.

I've been the only consistent one in my mom's treatment.  Across her initial mammogram, surgery per-certification, two surgery days, a week in the hospital, 14 chemo rounds, six rounds of radiation to-date, days and days of visits for Neuopogen shots, info sessions for chemo and radiation, and I don't know how many meetings with doctors and NPs, I've been to every thing except one chemo round (sick), one shot (sick), and one radiation round (someone else).  I fill out all the paperwork.  I'm the one talking to doctors and nurses and picking up prescriptions.

This whole time, my sister has lived under the same roof.  Most of the time, she's moaning and groaning how she doesn't feel like going to be with our mother.  There's always an excuse.  She's tired.  She doesn't feel well.  It's too hot.  None of her clothes fit.

I'm so goddamn tired of sith like this rolling down to me, getting no appreciation, being used, having to deal with the same bullsith repeatedly, and being made out like the bad guy when I say something.  I get accused by my mom of trying to put her off on the bus when I was desperately trying to make sure she had transportation to her radiation.  I'm the one constantly having to remind her that, yes, we do have a gas card, but we need to save it as much as we can.

I love all the "all these great things happened last decade" posts.  I got two worthless degrees, went to New Orleans, and flew for the first time.

And what did I get in return?  Massive debt, months of homelesses, huge amounts of stress and desperation, a lack of appreciation, saw my last hopes die. I'm in the worst health (physical and mental) I've ever been in.  My car is FUBAR.  I lost a grandparent.

So. I have no problem tossing all my monies at Disney.  Generally speaking.  I mean, I shelled out for the sequel trilogy, three times each. Disney+ right away for Mandalorian.

But.  $30 to watch Mulan? At home, on my small TV without surround sound?

Sorry, Disney.  I'll wait till it's free (well, free with my subscription; not an extra premium). Even I have my limits.

Yeah, that's my feeling about it too. Just seems like greed to me. I know they have costs to claw back, but surely they are saving do much on distribution and marketing?

The amount they are asking for I wouldn't even pay to see the film in the cinema. ?‍♂️

Eh, if you don't go during matinee prices and buy snacks and drinks, you'd probably spend close to or more than $30. But yeah, I'm not paying an extra $30 to rent a movie I can watch at home in my pajamas with my snacks.

Well, it's not really a rental; you get to keep it for as long as you have a Disney+ account.

Anyway, I came across something yesterday, where apparently an international ad leaked that it'll be free to subscribers Dec. 4.
So. I guess I just wait three months. :p   (If it's true).

Wish I could still see it on the big screen (those battle scenes, totally) but I'll take what I can get lol.

There is some talk though that this is just kind of an experiment for Disney, that if it works out, they might do it for other films like Black Widow.  *shrugs*

Ugh, Covid keeps ruining things.

Now it's made ABC cancel one of my new favorite shows. Which they had renewed for a second season back in May. But now they've reversed that and axed it. All because the production is delayed, and wouldn't be ready to air until April.

RIP Stumptown. I hope you find a new home, fingers crossed.

Heh, I forgot I mentioned this. I actually spoke to my doctor about it and he agreed to refer me to a specialist. Had an appointment with a psychologist a few months ago and they agreed that it's work looking into, but it's really underfunded around here so the process can take a while unless I go private, which I can't afford. But we'll see what happens.

In other news, my sister in law got Covid. That's karma for being a horrible person. Only problem is she passed it to her mum who has also now tested positive. Luckily we've not seen her a good few weeks so we shouldn't have been exposed and neither of us have any symptoms, which is just as well because Shane just started a new job and we can't afford to lose any pay right now.

I had the ‘rona back in August.  Luckily it was mild and I was better after a couple of days.

Argh, yeah my mum and dad have it at the moment but they are both doing okay. The in-laws have all had it too.

Thankfully we've not had it ourselves, which is just as well because Shane just started a new job so we can't afford it. ?

One of my aunts had it. My mom thinks she might have had it back in January, but there's no way to know for sure since the antibodies don't seem to hang around for long.

Yeah, there's no way of really knowing how many people actually had it back before testing was widespread. Kinda scary to think how something so potentially deadly to some people can be mild or completely asymptomatic in others.

I expect the vaccine will just become part of the annual flu vaccine programmes once the it is ready.

So I was forced to start working from home a couple weeks back.

I do not like this. at. all.

Excluding that my work space is less than ideal, I hate being stuck here at home.  Too many memories and similarities to when I was unemployed for almost four years.

Not that I am a highly social person anyway, but going to the office every day at least got me out of the house. Even if I had nowhere else to go.  I guess I should be thankful I didn't have to start WFH back in April when most of the company did.  But who knows how long this will last now.

And then the work area I mentioned... is basically just a table stuck in the living room with my work computer on it. Lighting in there is not great. (There is a big window but it's behind my monitors and blinds me if I have the shades open). And I'm discovering my desk chair (which I move from my room and back every day) isn't as comfortable as I thought after sitting in it 8-9 hours at a time.

2020 can just suck it.

Yeah, I'm using an old 4-seat dining table as my work from home desk, we haven't got blinds/curtains in the spare room yet because, well, procrastination, but luckily the sun doesn't come around during my working hours. Feels like I'm in a goldfish bowl at 5pm now that it gets dark so earl, though...

I was able to bring my chair home from work this time, the first time we had lockdown I was using a dining chair and it was not comfortable at all.

I've gotten two birthday invitations for my son and I'm like, we're still in the middle of a pandemic, no I'm not coming to your kid's birthday party.
