Harrison Ford unsure about Star Wars return.

Shane
  • During an appearance on UK television's Graham Norton Show, Harrison Ford suggested that he hasn't quite decided whether he wants to return to the role of Han Solo after a 30 year break.

Although Ford says he is keep to do more Indiana Jones, he seems less keen to reprise the role of smuggler, scoundrel, and hero of the Rebellion Han Solo.

Ford's apparent dislike of the character has been evident since Return of the Jedi's release in 1983 when he stated that he thought Han Solo should have been killed off. In an interview in 2010 he repeated this view, saying that Solo was "not so interesting to me".

It has still not been officially confirmed whether any of the big three; Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, or Harrison Ford will return for Star Wars Episode VII, and we wonder whether a 70-year old Solo would be as quick with a blaster as he was in the classic trilogy. But one thing is for certain, his absence from the sequel trilogy would be disappointing to Star Wars fans.

Harrison Ford is currently promoting his latest movie, the big screen adaptation of Ender's Game, and has also recently taken on a role in the next installment of the Expendables.

    • Last Shot

Star Wars: Last Shot is a novel featuring Han Solo and Lando Calrissian.
The events of the novel occur in multiple time periods, including between the events of Solo: A Star Wars Story and A New Hope. Part of the novel happens after Return of the Jedi, in which a young Ben Solo is said to appear.
    • Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh episode of the Star Wars saga. Production was announced by George Lucas in 2011, years after initially claiming that the story of Star Wars ended with Return of the Jedi. In 2012 Lucas sold Lucasfilm, along with the entire Star Wars franchise, to The Walt Disney Company who then assembled a new team to rework Episode VII to their own design. This marks the start of a new trilogy of Star Wars movies, and effectively reboots the franchise by casting off the old Star Wars Expanded Universe, opening the doors for new stories to take place in various media.
The film was widely anticipated and went on to break several box office records, and is currently the third highest grossing film of all time, behind Avatar and Titanic (unadjusted for inflation, as of February 2016). It won a Bafta for Best Special Visual Effects at the 2016 British Academy Film Awards, and was the American Film Institute's Movie of the Year for 2015.
The Force Awakens is set roughly 30 years after the end of Return of the Jedi and follows new heroes Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron, as they assist the the Resistance in the fight against the evil forces of the First Order, which has risen from the ashes of the defeated Galactic Empire.
