Wel I thought that. There are only a few characters really that are instantly recognisable by EU fans. One of them would be Thrawn, because he is blue.

If it's Assaji...that would suck. C'mon...a Prequel EU character? Prequel EU isn't even EU.

Well, considering the bulk of the EU seems to be on the OT side of the timeline, it seems likely the character will be from there. However, there are a lot of books coming out on the PT side of things, so who knows?
Mara Jade, Kyp Durron, Corran Horn, Anakin Solo, Jacen Solo, and Jaina Solo would probably either be too young (by my estimation) or not even born by this time. So, that counts out six big characters. Same goes for Mirax Terrik and Talon Karrde.
Anyone having to to with the Yuuzhan Vong is probably unlikely as 1) they would be in disguise and therefore not recognizeable and 2) it seems too early from them to show up.
But I'm not sure about these characters: Thrawn, Borsk Fey'yla, Palleon (sp?), and Elegos A'Kla. All seem pretty recognizeable and may be around during this time.

Hadn't really thought about Paelleon. Although...is he someone instantly recognizable? Perhaps in name, but to some, he could just be another nameless Imperial Navy officer.

I never quite voiced my disappointment with the title. Like AOTC, RotS sounds like a 50s B-Movie. They could've put some thought into it.

Vergere's already gone with the Vong by this point... but that might not stop Lucas from putting her in. It's unlikely though, my money's on Thrawn.
